Legislative District Caucuses

Join the Political Process: Be a Part of the Republican State Convention!

The Legislative District (LD) Caucuses are a pivotal step in shaping the future of the Republican Party in Washington State. Here’s what you need to know:

Date and Purpose:

  • When: The LD Caucuses will be held each weekend in February. Please see below for your LD’s date and location.
  • Why: This is where you, as a delegate or alternate elected at your pooled precinct caucuses, have the power to elect representatives for your legislative district to the Republican State Convention, being held April 18th – 20th in Spokane. These individuals will carry your district’s voice to the Republican State Convention.

State Convention Delegates | Key Responsibilities:

  • Endorsements: Delegates at the State Convention will endorse candidates for statewide and federal offices, including the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives.
  • WSRP Platform: Play a vital role in crafting and adopting the Washington State Republican Party (WSRP) Platform.
  • National Representation: Participate in electing delegates and alternates for the National level, where the Republican nominee for President in 2024 will be chosen.

How to Participate:

  • Declare Candidacy: Interested in being a delegate at the State Convention? Declare your candidacy at least 72 hours before your LD Caucus to have your name on the ballot. Please follow the links below to declare your candidacy. Please note: you do not have to be a delegate to the LD Caucus to be a candidate, but you must be a registered voter in the Legislative District you declare your candidacy in.
  • Missed the deadline? You can still be nominated on-site by attending delegates.
  • Be Prepared for Costs: Remember, attending the state convention involves expenses such as delegate fees, lodging, travel, and meals. Plan accordingly and find more information on costs at wsrp.org/convention.
