The Highline Public Schools Board of Directors will hold its regular meeting Wednesday, March 4, at 6:00 p.m. at the district’s central office in Burien.
Many parents will be watching during the public testimony period, when parent Vance Glawe is expected to speak early in the meeting. Glawe delivered an angry and emotional address at the February 11 board meeting, sharply criticizing district leadership and urging greater transparency and parental involvement.

Ahead of Wednesday’s meeting, Glawe posted on Instagram, announcing he would be at the meeting, encouraging parents to attend. He also promised concerned parents he would be the “voice of reason for you,” offering to advocate on behalf of people who are too afraid to speak in person to the board.
Community members who wish to speak during the meeting must sign up for public testimony by 9:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 4.
The meeting will include district updates and recognitions, featuring Read Across America, a “diverse & inclusive books” student engagement program, sponsored by the National Education Association (NEA).
District leaders are scheduled to present updates on the strategic plan and the district’s current budget outlook. The board will also consider agreements allowing HealthPoint to operate school-based health centers at Evergreen, Tyee, and Highline high schools.
Facility issues will also appear on the agenda. Directors will review an emergency corrective project at Sylvester Middle School to address corridor flooring problems, along with several infrastructure and technology items.
The meeting will take place in the boardroom at the district’s central office, 15675 Ambaum Blvd. SW in Burien.
