Bloomside is permanent supportive housing operated by the Downtown Emergency Center (DESC) in downtown Burien. There is a Community Engagement Meeting on January 13th from 3:30 pm -4:15 pm at Bloomside, 801 SW 150th St., Burien.
Bloomside, and its impact on the community, have become a hot topic in public comments at the Burien city council, and many neighbors living and working nearby have expressed their concerns. This meeting is open to the public and is an opportunity for community members to observe the Burien Community Advisory Committee as they discuss Bloomside and its relationship with the neighborhood.

DESC will contribute to the operation of the committee through:
- Recording of meeting minutes and distribution of drafts/final versions to Committee members.
- Posting meeting times and locations, minutes, agendas and other relevant information shared at meetings on the Advisory Committee page of DESC’s website.
- Scheduling accessible meeting spaces.
- Distribution of meeting agendas and discussion materials prior to meetings.
- Facilitation of language translation of all meeting documents and announcements, as needed.
