On Friday, March 13, a heavy, wet snowfall settled across Highline neighborhoods even as early spring flowers had begun to bloom. Temperatures hovered right at the edge of melting, allowing thick, sloppy flakes to fall. Blossoms that seem delicate proved far stronger than they appear, enduring the late winter snowfall.
By Monday afternoon, the white blanket had largely melted away, and the flowers stood upright again, resilient and ready to herald the arrival of spring.
