Until 1:40 a.m., House Republicans fought to stop the Democrats’ proposal to increase local property taxes. House Bill 2049 will not only lead to higher property taxes for working families, but also widen the funding gap between wealthy and poor school districts.
Gov. Bob Ferguson signed House Bill 2049 into law on May 20.
