House Democrats have introduced a whole host of new taxes during the 2025 session, including:
▶️A tripling of the property tax growth cap from 1% to 3% (HB 1334).
▶️An increase to the real estate excise tax (HB 1867)
▶️An unrealized capital gains tax (HB 1319)
▶️An increase in business and occupation (B&O) taxes (HB 1320).
▶️An 11% excise tax on firearms, parts, and ammunition (HB 1386).
▶️A $2 excise tax on each retail sale of a smart wireless device (HB 1517).
▶️An increase in the advanced computing businesses tax (HB 1836 & 1839).
▶️A new self-storage tax (HB 1907).
