This week, Democrats finally unveiled their state income tax bills, House Bill 2724 and Senate Bill 6346. Their initial proposal would impose a 9.9% tax on high earners. A member of House Democratic leadership, however, has already admitted that – if passed – we should assume this tax will apply to everyone by 2030.
Republicans oppose a state income tax. It’s not only unnecessary and unconstitutional – it will drive away jobs, hurt Washington’s economy, and eventually target everyone.
