During the debate over the state’s operating budget this week, House Democrats revealed their priorities.
Instead of providing school lunches for all K-12 students, they funded hair removal for transgender inmates. Instead of ensuring single-parent families on Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) receive their full child support payments, Democrats chose to fund DEI programs at public universities. And rather than rein in the exponential growth of college administrators, they increased fees on the Discover Pass and hunting and fishing licenses.
The Democrats’ budget is out of step with the needs of Washington’s working families.
