Why do we have Good Samaritan laws? The recent NYC Daniel Penny case has reignited a discussion about the importance of protecting Good Samaritans and not discouraging them. We need more Good Samaritans willing to help protect and save their fellow friends, neighbors, and strangers in our community when the police are nowhere to be found. I share a few family stories about family members who were good Samaritans, discuss why we have these laws in Washington State, and I reference these laws in the video and down below.
