Washington’s Secretary of State Steve Hobbs has a “Hobbson’s” Choice Dilemma as Trump’s DOJ presses forward demanding access to Washington State’s voter rolls (as the Feds once did with the Democrats in the Jim Crow South). With Oregon and Maine getting sued by the DOJ this week for refusing to follow the law or cooperate (what are they hiding?), Hobbs has to know this is serious.
Here are his choices – First, he can run interference and cover for Governor Bob Ferguson and the long corrupted Dept of Licensing (not to mention DSHS and any other crew with illegal voter registrations). If that goes south, and it will, then Ferguson and AG Nick Brown can blame Hobbs for the problems in the voter rolls (Hey, it was HIS responsibility). Or, the other choice is to screw Ferguson and friends and just give the list to the DOJ, and let the chips fall where they may. This choice will invite the harassment and probably litigation from the Ferguson gang as well, and Hobbs would face some serious political attacks from the Left on the Homefront. A Hobbson’s choice at best…
Remember, government hates it when you start looking at how they operate, and they really don’t want you to know how they squander your tax dollars. Government will never reform itself.
