We The Governed – Too close to call? – Washington’s ongoing Hand Recount election exposes many problems…

The current statewide hand recount in Washington State has exposed a number of problems and concerns with the Washington State election system and the drama it can create. The 2024 primary election had an initial election result for the 2nd place position for the Washington State Commissioner of Public Lands to be too close to call, so every county must, as required by law, hand recount the ballots to make sure that they didn’t miss anything, that the count was accurate, and to verify who actually won. When an election is this close, then every ballot clearly does count. Now we are discovering how some are made to not count at all, or not allowed to count, or where some are given special treatment compared to others. The drama continues…
